Rio de Janeiro Cray !!! Boulangerie Guerin

I have a major sweet tooth and have a hard time saying no to carbs. When I found out that there was a boulangerie just blocks away from where we were staying in Copacabana I had to get me some baked goods! Opening in 2012, Boulangerie Guerin has created quite the stir filling its display cases with the prettiest and fanciest pastries in Copacabana. However, if you’re looking for an authentic Brazilian bakery, this isn’t the spot. Boulangerie Guerin has a strong French influence whipping up the fresh baguettes, delicious quiches, buttery croissants, decadent éclairs, gorgeous tarts, delicate macarons and more. This place is also a good spot to grab a decent cuppa coffee.

Chocolat Framboise (R$10.90 or $4.80 USD). The Chocolat Framboise consisted of layers of light chocolate cake and creamy dark chocolate mousse topped with a layer of homemade tart raspberry jam.

Eclair pistache (R$9.90 or $4.40 USD). The pistachio éclair was filled with a velvety pistachio cream topped with a layer of vanilla icing and chopped pistachios. It tasted pretty delicious, but nowhere nearly as tasty as L’ Éclair de Génie in Paris!

Coeur de Macaron Framboise (R$11.80 or $5.25 USD). This was essentially a giant macaron filled with raspberry cream filling and surrounded by perfect fresh raspberries. This was my second favorite!

Tartelette Tatin (R$10.90 or $4.80 USD). The tart tatin was my favorite, similar to an apple pie with caramelized apples atop a buttery crumbly crust.
